BIO-A Aerobic Control Panel Applications

The BIO-A panel is critical for aerobic systems that rely on both aeration and timed effluent dispersal. The air pump oxygenates the tank to support waste-breaking bacteria, while the submersible pump, controlled by the timer, distributes treated effluent to irrigation or secondary systems. Dual alarms provide early warnings—high water indicates potential pump or system issues, while air pump failure signals aeration loss, which could lead to anaerobic conditions and untreated effluent within two weeks.

BIO-A Installation Guide

Below is a brief installation guide for the BIO-A aerobic control panel, offered as a general reference. However, it is highly recommended to engage a professional with expertise or experience to ensure adherence to electrical codes and regulations.

Terminal Strip from Left to Right:

• L1: Incoming 120V Hot Wire
• N: Incoming Neutral and Outgoing Submersible Pump Neutral
• P1: Outgoing 120V Hot Wire to Submersible Pump
  • DO NOT connect the Pump Hot Wire directly to P1 or the pump will run continuously based on the timer. A float switch is required for automatic operation.
  • Float Switch Wiring Instructions: A pump duty float switch is two wires. Connect one wire of the float to P1, Connect the other wire of the Float to the Hot Wire of the Pump using a wire nut.
• PT: Pump Test Switch on the side of the panel (Optional). PT terminal will be Hot when the switch is pushed down. When connected correctly, the PT switch will turn on the submersible pump manually.
  • Run a wire from PT terminal to the Hot wire of the pump.
  • To connect both a float switch and the Pump Test, you will have one Float Wire on P1 and the other Float Wire, the wire coming from PT, and the Pump Hot Wire all wire nutted together.
• N: Outgoing Neutral Wire to Air Pump
• C1: Outgoing Hot Wire to Air Pump
• 1 & 2: Terminals for Override Float Switch that would override the timer (optional)
• 3 & 4: High Water Alarm float switch

Timer Settings:

The load is OFF if the tab is pushed IN towards the center of the timer. The load is ON if the tab is pushed OUTWARD from the center. Each tab represents a 15-minute interval.

To synchronize the timer with the time of day, push the white clock hand in a clockwise direction until the marking for the current time of day is aligned with the arrow

3 Position Switch on the Timer

• I (Top Position): Bypass Timer (pump would run based on float switch only)
• Timer (Center Position): Operate according to Timer
• O (Bottom Position): Timer off (pump will not work at all)
